New Rap Music 2018

By: Riley Phelan
With 2018 coming to an end in less than a month, it seems good to go over some of the best albums of 2018. So far 2018 has had a very disappointing new music. With new albums from Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Cardi B, Takeoff, Quavo, and Lil Yachty; I expected way better music from some of these rappers. Some of them came out with great new music and some fell short. Today I will give you my top 5 albums of 2018.

Top 5 albums of 2018lil wayne
1. Lil Wayne Tha Carter V
Lil Wayne gave his all into this album and it reflects on to the music it has his classic flow and brings in a new style of depression rap into his vast set of musical skills. The album has shown us Lil Wayne can do it all.

2.Juice Wrld Goodbye and Good Riddance
This album not only the start of depression rap, but the breakout of this style. It reached out to many topics that are glorified in regular rap and showed the awful side of these topics.

3. Nas Nasir
The flow is old school and amazing. He shows that old New York rap is still the best rap out there. Nas gave a flow and beats that no one can match into today’s day in age.

4. J Cole KOD
This kind of album with no features seems impossible but J Cole did it he showed the world that you can create a top 5 album with no features. His lyrics are unmatched, and the only reason it’s not number one is because of the wave of depression rap.

5. Post Malone Beerbongs and Bentleys
Post Malone’s album has flow and style to every song. His music speaks to other genres of music and can be listened to in any mood.
