November 1 marked the end of the 2017 Woman’s Tennis season. The team fell short to Salisbury High School in the semifinals. This has been a remarkable year for the ladies knights. In the past four years, the Woman’s Tennis team has won 3 2A state titles and 65 out of the 66 matches. Congratulations on such an amazing season!

Team Captain, Annie Thomas, says that the team was a little disappointed after their loss at regionals. However, she is very proud of everyone and how hard the girls work. Thomas would would like to give a special shoutout to freshman Jada Mbote and Alicia Bush, at court 5 and 6, for their contributions to the team.

“Overall I’m proud of how far we have come and I think this season just shows how strong every player on our team really is,” Thomas says.

Also, congratulations to Lauren Bush and Annie Thomas for their 2A Individual Woman’s Tennis runners up! After playing numerous matches at Cary Tennis Park, the duo earned their spot in the state finals. What a great end to a great season.
